While social media is an amazing outlet to branch out to different demographics, it can also leave you wondering…what more can I do? Social media is a great enhancement to your marketing strategy, not a replacement.
Getting new customers can be difficult; however, having the right mindset can set you apart from your competitors. But you can play in a less driven way that is all about fun and engagement and building relationships and making a real difference.” Adding a little bit of competitive spirit to a challenge always makes it more fun. Whether it’s a relaxing game of racquetball with a friend or the serious business of finding new customers!
Something else to consider as part of your mindset is “WHO.” Who are you marketing to? Who SHOULD you be marketing to? While marketing to a large group of people may seem like the best option, it might not actually be if this isn’t your demographic. For example, if you own a retail store that sells classic rock records and you market to a younger demographic, how helpful is that to your business? Marketing to a specific demographic is called target marketing and can produce much better results. Instead, you must reach specific customers and satisfy their particular needs.” Most of us that live and work in this world have had clients that attempt to be everything to everyone. Simply put, you’ll typically be better served by honing in on the people that are most likely to do business with you. The number will be smaller, but the payoff will likely be higher!
